Dog Friendly Activities in San Francisco

Here at Tefani we love letting dogs be dogs but sometimes a dog park isn’t exactly what your dog needs so here’s a list of some of our favorite dog friendly activities in San Francisco.

Fort Funston

Location: Fort Funston Rd, San Francisco, CA 94132

Fort Funston is a beautiful beach located in the southwest corner of San Francisco. This is awesome for dogs who live in Park Merced and Sunset Districts. Fort Funston has an off-leash area for dogs to run and play. The beach features stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, and while warm and sunny days in San Francisco are rare, if you and your dog are lucky enough to visit on those days, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of a warm sunset in the Bay Area. Bring a picnic blanket, some dog treats, and a bottle of water and let your dog run free!

Mishka Luxury Dog Treats

Location: 2124 Union St #A, San Francisco, CA 94123

Here at Tefani, we love to celebrate special events, like birthdays, adoption anniversaries and many more! We often will pick up a little treat from Mishka, because we love a handmade and healthy option for our pups. Not only are the treats and cakes made of natural ingredients and good for our dogs, they are also the most beautiful dog cakes one can find! Get the cameras ready, because you’ll want to snap all the photos so you can cherish these special moments with your pup forever. Mishka has two locations in San Francisco, one at the Ferry Building on Embarcadero, and another in Cow Hallow/Pacific Heights.

Hotel Kabuki

Location: 1625 Post StSan Francisco, CA 94115

Did you know the famous Hotel Kabuki in Japantown is dog friendly? Whether you are traveling to San Francisco or just need a staycation, Hotel Kabuki is the place for you and your dog. Explore the historic Japantown by day and walk down the infamous Fillmore Street by night, where you are sure to find many dog-friendly restaurants to choose from.

Mission Dolores Dog Park

Location: Dolores St &, 19th St, San Francisco, CA 94114

Dolores is known for it’s stunning views of San Francisco, so why not visit with your dog! Grab a picnic blanket, some drinks and a few snacks (and of course some dog treats…maybe from Mishka?!) and enjoy a fun filled day with some sunshine and fresh air with your pup.

Chrissy Field

Location: 924 Mason St, San Francisco, CA 94129

Chrissy Field has undoubtedly one of the best views of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. WIth a large open field of grass, this is the perfect spot if you want to allow your dog to stretch their legs. Unfortunately this is not fenced in so please make sure if you are letting your dog off leash, to be careful of the cars and respectful of the other dogs at play. When you’re done, you can take a walk along the Marina Green to take in the beautiful sights of the city.
